At EakiteLagos, we are obsessed with one thing: getting you on the water and experiencing that incredible rush of gliding over the Atlantic. We’ve dedicated ourselves to kitesurfing, wingfoiling, and wakeboarding in the stunning waters of the Algarve.

But we know the frustration. The Nortada (the famous Portuguese north wind) doesn't always show up when we want it to. Sometimes, the sea is too calm. And sometimes, you just want to fly without waiting for the perfect conditions.

We’ve seen the future of water sports, and it is silent, smooth, and breathtakingly fast.

That’s why we are incredibly excited to announce a brand-new adventure joining our Lagos lineup in 2026: Efoiling!

What is Efoiling? "Snowboarding on a Cloud"

For those who haven't seen them yet, an eFoil is an electric hydrofoil board. It’s essentially a surfboard with an electric motor and a hydrodynamic wing (the hydrofoil) attached to a mast beneath it.

When the motor kicks in, you power across the water. As you gain speed, the hydrodynamic wing lifts the board entirely out of the water. Suddenly, all you feel is silent, smooth flight. There is no friction, no slap of the waves—just pure glide.

Students at our kite school have described the feeling as "snowboarding on deep powder" or "meditation at 30kph." It is easily one of the most addicting sensations on the water.

Why You Will Love Efoiling in Lagos

We are biased, but we believe Lagos and the Western Algarve are the perfect playground for this new sport. Here’s why:

This is the ultimate game-changer for our school. Unlike kitesurfing, eFoiling requires zero wind. You are the power source. This means we can now guarantee sessions and maximize your time on the water, even on the flattest, calmest days of summer.

2. Accessible for Everyone (Seriously)

While kitesurfing can take 3–5 sessions to consistently get your board starts, most students are up and "flying" on an eFoil within the first 30 to 60 minutes. The learning curve is surprisingly gentle. If you can balance on a bike, we can teach you to eFoil. It doesn't matter if you have zero previous surfing experience—it's all about weight distribution and finesse.

3. New Perspectives on Familiar Spots

Imagine efoiling across the crystal-clear waters of Meia Praia or navigating the mirror-flat lagoon of Ria de Alvor as the sun sets, with nothing but the quiet hum of your board. Efoiling gives you a completely unique, elevated view of the coastline and the water below you.

4. The 2026 Gear is Next-Level

We are adding the very latest 2026 model eFoils to our school. The technology has evolved rapidly:

• Jet Propulsion: We’ve selected jet-propulsion units for maximum safety (no open propellers near your feet!) and a smooth, stable power delivery.

• Modular Wings: We have wings designed for absolute stability for beginners and more agile wings for advanced riders ready to carve.
